Louise Sinclair
Senior Lawyer Writer
Louise Sinclair is a senior commercial lawyer specialising in privacy and data protection law. Louise was admitted to practice in 1997 and has broad experience in privacy and data protection law, commercial law and health law gained through roles held in private practice, government and in-house. Prior to joining Practical Law Australia, Louise practised atleading top tier law firms including, Blake Dawson Waldron (now Ashurst) and Ebsworth & Ebsworth (now HWL Ebsworth) and as a Principal Legal Officer with the New South Wales government. Louise is a subject matter expert on privacy and data protection laws and is a current member of the NSW Law Society’s Privacy and Data Law Committee. Louise brings extensive experience across various industries advising on a broad range of commercial and business matters including advising on privacy and data protection aspects of major public health projects in New South Wales, outsourcing of information technology and goods and services contracts.
Rebecca Brown

Rebecca Brown joined Practical Law after more than 10 years working in privacy and data protection law in the public and private sectors. Rebecca was previously Director of Privacy Law Reform at the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, (OAIC), where she provided expert advice to the Government throughout the review of the Privacy Act, contributing to significant legislative reform and the direction of national privacy policy in Australia. Rebecca’s other experience includes as in-house privacy compliance specialist with a large corporate group, and as a federal government lawyer. Rebecca is a Certified Information Privacy Professional in pan-European data protection law and practice (CIPP/E).
