Kate Merrifield
Head of Corporate
Kate Merrifield was admitted to legal practice in 2006 and joined Practical Law as a Senior Lawyer Writer before taking on her current role. Prior to joining Practical Law, Kate practised at leading law firm Gilbert+Tobin, where she advised on private mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, restructures, joint ventures, corporate governance, directors' duties and commercial contracts. Her experience includes secondments at Telstra Corporation Limited and Westpac Banking Corporation Limited.
Olwen Jaffe Cadosch
Lawyer Writer
Olwen Jaffe Cadosch was admitted to practice in the United States in 2016 and in Australia in 2023. Prior to joining Practical Law, Olwen worked as a trial lawyer in private practice, for a US government agency, and as an adjunct professor in legal research and studies for an American law school.
Tim Perry
Director of Practical Law Australia
Tim Perry was admitted to legal practice in 2004 and joined Practical Law as Head of Corporate before taking on his current role. Prior to joining Practical Law, he practised at leading law firms Gilbert+Tobin, DLA Piper and Mallesons Stephen Jaques (now King & Wood Mallesons). In his time as a corporate lawyer, Tim advised on public and private mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, joint ventures, restructures, capital raisings, privatisations and other government transactions, corporate governance, directors' duties and commercial contracts.
Lauren Singh
Senior Lawyer Writer
Lauren Singh was admitted to practice in 2012 and joined Practical Law after having practised as a corporate lawyer at Watson Mangioni and Piper Alderman. Lauren is experienced in advising clients on IPOs, mergers and acquisitions and matters of general corporate governance, in particular ASX-listed companies.
Shan-Ree Tan
Senior Lawyer Writer
Shan-Ree Tan was admitted to legal practice in 2006 and joined Practical Law in 2016. Prior to joining Practical Law, he assisted a judge of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and then practiced in the corporate advisory group at leading law firm Gilbert+Tobin, where he advised on public and private mergers and acquisitions with a focus on private equity investments and trade sales, restructures, capital raisings, fund structuring, foreign investment, , employee incentive schemes, State government privatisations and partnerships, energy and resources ventures, corporate governance, commercial contracts, and charities. His experience also includes secondments at the Australian Securities and Investments Commission and in the Beijing offices of King & Wood PRC Lawyers (now King & Wood Mallesons).
