BROWSING

Business Sections & Subject Areas

Our online catalogue is divided into 5 main business areas:

• Academic
• Business Management
• IR/HR & Payroll
• Legal
• Tax & Accounting

To browse to products in these sections,

• select a business section from the drop down list on the start page
• then click subject area to browse to products in the category

You can switch to a different business area from the catalogue Start Page by selecting a new business area from the drop down list.

SEARCHING

Advanced Search

Advanced Search allows you to search for products by keyword, product code, author name, subject area and various other criteria. You can access the search page by clicking "Advanced Search" located in the left margin of the catalogue pages. A few advanced searches are listed below.

Search: By Keyword

Find products that have specific words in the title, description and other fields.

1. Enter search terms in the Keywords field.
2. Select "Title Only" to limit your search to just the title field of the products, or "All Fields" to broaden your search to include all all the product record fields including the description, author names, publisher and product code.
3. Select the Business Area of the catalogue to search. (You can select multiple business areas by holding down the CTRL key.)
4. Click search at the bottom of the page.

Search: By Author Name

Find products by searching for the author's first or last name.

1. Type the author's first name or last name in the author field.
2. Select the Business Area of the catalogue to search. (You can select multiple business areas by holding down the CTRL key.)
3. Click search at the bottom of the page.

Limiting Searches: By Subject Area

Limit your search to specific subject areas by entering your keywords and other criteria, then:

1. Select the Business Area of the catalogue to search. (Hold down the CTRL key select more than one value.)
2. Select the Subject Area you want to search within (Hold down the CTRL key select more than one value.)
3. Click search at the bottom of the page.

USING THE SHOPPING CART

Your Shopping Cart

Add an item to your shopping cart to by clicking the Buy or Enquire button next to the product.

You can review or make changes to the contents of your cart and or continue to checkout from the Shopping Cart Review page.

Buy vs. Enquire

Most non-subscription products will be available for purchase online. These types of products appear with a "Buy" button.

Some subscription products need to be arranged through an account manager. These items will appear with an "Enquire" button next to them.

You can add either type of product to your shopping cart and complete checkout process. For enquiries, an account manager will follow up with you soon after you submit your order.

PLACING YOUR ORDER

Proceed to Checkout

When you're ready to submit your order (or enquiry) click "Proceed to Checkout" from your Shopping Cart.

Checkout: Enquiries

If your cart contains only enquiry items, all we need are your contact details to complete the checkout process.

Checkout: Buy

If you're placing an order, we'll need you to provide your contact details, a shipping address, and payment details for your order.

Payment Method

Payment methods we accept via our online catalogue are:  Thomson Account and credit card (Bankcard, MasterCard, Visa, Amex, Diners). 

If you don't have a Thomson account or if you would prefer to pay by another method, simply select "Other" as the payment type and we will contact you to finalise the order.

Other payment methods we accept are: cheque, money order, credit card and BPAY.

Thomson Account Discounts (see below*).

Standard Shipping

Orders are shipped by Australia Post mail. Orders totalling more than $100.00 include shipping. A flat fee of $14.25 will be added to orders of less than $100.00.

Expedited Shipping

We can arrange for expedited delivery of your order. Costs for this service depend on the product and the delivery location. If you need fast delivery enter "EXPEDITE" or "URGENT" in the Special Instructions field on the Customer Information checkout page. We will contact you to discuss shipping options and costs that suit your need. Your order total will be revised to reflect the new shipping costs.

Cancelling an Order

If you need to cancel or change your order please contact our Customer Service Team on 1300 304 195.

Thomson Account Discounts

If you are a Thomson account holder with a standing discount please use your account as the payment method to ensure that your discount is applied to your order. 

If your Thomson account qualifies for a discount we will revise the order total and notify you when processing your order.  The new order total will also be reflected on the product invoice, which is included with delivery of the product, as well as on your Thomson account statement.

During the checkout process our secure server uses SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) to connect to our website, which encrypts all the information sent from your PC. Your browser will display a small padlock on the foot of the browser window when an SSL connection is in use.
