The area of water management continues to be expanded to provide subscribers with the information required to face these emerging changes and issues. NSW water legislation has been added to the service, starting with the Water Management Act 2000 and the Water Management (General) Regulation 2004. This is annotated by Emma Solomon of the NSW Office of Water, who recently joined the authoring team from the New South Wales Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water (DECCW).
Legislation in this service has cross-referencing notes which explain the relationship of the provisions of the Act with the provisions of the Regulation. The Environmental Law Locater is a legislation matrix of the environmental law legislation for each jurisdiction. The locater clearly shows with which environmental matters specific legislation deals.
Overall ERLS provides awareness of rights, obligations and responsibilities in relation to protecting the environment, climate change and water regulatory compliance issues and exposure to potential liability and penalties.
