On April 17, 2008, Thomson acquired Reuters and we officially became one company - Thomson Reuters – another significant milestone in our company’s long and distinguished history in Australia and New Zealand.

Thanks to the support of our valued customers, our outstanding authors and our talented staff, this year we are celebrating 110 years in legal publishing.

Our story began with The Law Book Company in 1898.

1980s Australian Case Citator established; Australian Digest 3rd series launched
1987 Law Book Company acquired by Thomson Corporation
1989 Acquisition of CPD (Centre for Professional Development)
1993 Laws of Australia published
Acquisition of Newsletter Information Services
1994 Acquisition of Brookers New Zealand
1995 Acquisition of ATP (Australian Tax Practice)
2001 Thomson brand established
2007 Acquisition of PowerTax, Allume and cvmail
2008 Acquisition of Reuters. Thomson Reuters created.
